About the Business
I came to work alongside my Mum Delia 10 years ago after completing a Psychology BSc degree at Nottingham University. As a family we have always had a great love for all animals and have taken in many furry friends needing a home over the years including the 6 dogs we currently have. It was this passion for dogs that started Delia's idea for Groom & Room after leaving a long career in paediatric nursing. The idea for the hydrotherapy pursuit was born when our German Shepherd Rosie was diagnosed with terrible hip dysplasia. Following corrective orthopaedic surgery we were advised that she should have hydrotherapy to help with her recovery but there were no such facilities in the area and to travel her a long distance would have caused more discomfort. This was devastating news and led me to research the field of Canine hydrotherapy where I discovered Hawksmoor Training centre. I booked myself onto a series of courses and thoroughly enjoyed them. It was now my passion.
